2025 Grand Marshall

The Cass County Fair is proud to announce Susan Mills-Gray as our 2025 Grand Marshall.

Susan Mills-Gray has lived in Cass County for 31 years. She retired from the University of Missouri in 2021. She served as an Extension Professor, serving as an off-campus faculty member from 1983 to 2013, and as an on-campus faculty and administrator from 2014-2021.

Susan was housed in the MU Extension Cass County Center from 1998 – 2013 and was actively involved in multiple community and county-wide health impact projects, community nutrition/health programming, and frequent guest on Kansas City television stations. She served as a co-leader for the community group that worked to open the Cass County Dental Clinic in 2011 and its expansion to a second site in 2015. She represented southern Cass County on the Health Forward Foundation’s Community Board from 2014 – 2020. Susan currently serves as treasurer on the Cass Regional Hospital Foundation board.

As a former 4-H member in childhood, Susan has supported Cass County 4-H by serving as a county project leader, Clover Kids leader, and financial supporter for the annual 4-H Green Book awards.

Susan is married to Bill Gray, Market President for Hawthorn Banks’ Harrisonville and Drexel locations. They live southwest of Harrisonville on a farm. They have five grown children; they have blessed them with ten grandchildren. Susan and Bill are active members of Rock Brook Church in Belton.
